What is Mastodon
Mastodon is an open-source, GNU Social-compliant decentralized social network, consisting of numerous instances.
Each Mastodon operating site is called an "instance". Users can register at any open instance, and users on any instance can communicate with users on other instances. Content posted by users on Mastodon is called a "Toot". Users can adjust privacy settings to restrict who can read or view their Toots.
Based on the ActivityPub open protocol, you can not only communicate with users on Mastodon instances, but also with instances using the ActivityPub protocol like Misskey. If you wish, you can even communicate with users on Threads compatible with the ActivityPub protocol or through bridges with other social software!
What is Baka.Ink
Baka.Ink is a Mastodon instance operated by us. Like other instances, our instance has minimal rules and does not block other instances.
Baka.Ink is currently open for registration to everyone, with no approval required.
We will continue to operate Baka.Ink until a comet passes by Earth again.
You can learn more about the instance here.
